EJ Barnes started his electrical apprenticeship straight out of school, close to 20 years ago now. Electrical work runs in the family. His father owned and operated a large electrical business on the Gold Coast, working on many of the high-rise construction sites going up across the city. EJ grew up around the trade, and it showed him early on what good electrical work actually looks like.
Before going out on his own, EJ put in around ten years across shop fitting, major domestic renovations and commercial sites. That mix taught him how to run a tidy job on a tight timeline, whether it was a family home or a busy shopfront. In 2012 he founded EJ Electrical, a family run business built on doing the job properly and standing behind the work.
Since then the team has completed hundreds of projects for thousands of customers across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW, from Coomera to Tweed Heads and down to Byron Bay. EJ still supervises every project himself and runs his own 4-stage checklist on every single job. It is a simple way of making sure the work that leaves our vans is work we are happy to put our name on.
